HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT
The department was founded in 1969 and was first represented by a doctor of historical sciences, prof. The director was A.Nilsen. In the first half of 1972 - 2018. The department was headed by professors, associate professors Yu.Z.Shvab, Yu.V.Sirkunov, D.N.Nosilov, A.Husainov, E.Kh.Isroilov, assoc. M. Akhmedov, Ph.D., prof., Arch.dok.prof. A.Uralov and senior lecturers TFKushmanov and I.T. Makhmatkulov. Since the second half of 2018, the department is headed by Mirzaev Dilshod Mardonovich. The department has 20 professors, teachers and 1 technical staff. Among them are doctors of science, professors 1, candidates of science, associate professors - 2, senior teachers - 8, teachers - 5 teachers, trainee teachers - 4. The teaching staff of the department is supported by the “Honored Teacher of the Youth of Uzbekistan” and “The Honor of Higher Education”.
The subjects of the department are formed on the basis of their name and are mainly based on the history and theory of architecture and urban planning, architectural composition, graphic and design principles, restoration of architectural and architectural monuments, landscape architecture and history, urban planning, architectural theory and criticism, architectural forms. Theoretical and practical knowledge is given to students on the subject of harmonization and decoration, term papers and projects are being implemented. The department has a total of more than 20 disciplines, each year an average of 14,000–15,000 academic hours.
The department teaches bachelors in the areas of "Architecture", "Landscape Architecture", "Landscape Architecture", "Theory and History of Architecture, Restoration of Architectural Monuments". There is a big research scientist in the department.

RESEARCH AND DEPARTMENT ITEMS:
Scientific interests of the department:
1.Topics of studying the theory and history of architecture of Uzbekistan, architectural values and traditions;
2. Scientific topics related to the formation, improvement and development of landscape architecture and a modern park park in Uzbekistan; 3. Topics dedicated to the identification and identification of priority areas of urban planning and architecture of Uzbekistan over the years of independence, the development of scientific recommendations and proposals for its further development; 4. Scientific topics on the development of the principles of preserving, restoring, restoring and modernizing traditional houses and mahallas in the historical cities of Uzbekistan; Scientific achievements of the department: Over the past 5 years, scientists of the department have won two grants of republican scientific research. Their themes: 1. Restoration of the “Chorbog” style used in Central Asian medieval landscape architecture in modern gardening practices. The main achievements in this field are as follows: - The architectural, landscape and landscape solutions of the historic gardens of the “Chorbag” were identified and their scientific justification was established;
- Created a graphic reconstruction and a fragment of a traditional garden and garden;
- architectural program, i.e. program to create a traditional "garden" style;
- - The functional basis of the traditional architectural garden of the Chorbag style has been developed and implemented.
2. Formation of effective ways to create landscape architects and structures in the conditions of Uzbekistan. The main achievements in this area are as follows:
- the basics of the formation of villages and rural architecture of the Samarkand region were studied;
- assessment of the current state of villages in the Samarkand region;
- The following comprehensive proposals for the development of landscape architecture of villages in the Samarkand region have been developed:
- administrative and organizational measures for the development of village landscape architecture;
- proposals to improve the material support of the regional architecture;
- Practical proposals for the development of regional architecture.
